Warzone Pacific trailer hints at the ability to climb rocks in Caldera

The latest Warzone Pacific Season 1 trailer showed off parts of the new map, Caldera. The trailer may have also hinted at the ability to climb rocks, which has previously been a frustrating experience in Verdansk.
Most Warzone players who have experienced their fair share of game-time in Verdansk will know exactly how frustrating it is to climb up rocks within the map's mountainous terrain. It can be very annoying especially when you need to reposition quickly away from the gas or enemies.
Things like this don't exactly make Warzone the most smooth experience when it comes to movement, but the recent Warzone Pacific trailer may have hinted at improvements to climbing in Caldera.
The Call of Duty battle royale game is about to get a heap of changes on December 8 when Warzone Pacific Season 1 drops. As well as the Vanguard integration, which will bring a bunch of WWII weapons and Loadout changes, we are also getting the new map Caldera.
Players have been waiting for this moment for some time now, and it may bring even more changes than expected.

As well as a recent hint towards a new Molotov use, fans are also decoding the Caldera reveal trailer. Warzone content creator JGOD believes that the narration in the trailer may have hinted at the ability to climb in Caldera.
In the trailer, the narrator says "survey the land from above by climbing natural rock formations."
This sentence alone has caused the belief that players will be able to climb up rocky terrain to get high ground. If true, this is a very exciting gameplay mechanic for players, as it will improve movement and overall quality of life when traversing the map.

However, some fans aren't holding their breath, as the trailer could have silly been referring to the rock formation in the video that looks like a bridge rather than actually climbing rocks: "Maybe climb (walk) up things like that rock arch, but no way we're scaling rock faces."
We'll have to wait and see how accurate the speculation is come December 8, which is when those with early access will get to experience the map exclusively. Until then, check out FaZe Swagg's "2 SHOT" AN-94 loadout.

Similar to Verdansk, Warzone's Pacific's new Caldera map appears to be inspired by real locations from the Pacific and the Second World War. Here are all of the real-life locations that Caldera appears to be inspired by.
Many locations from Warzone's original Verdansk map are inspired by real-life locations, such as the Stadium, Array, and Nakatomi Plaza. It appears that Raven Software has taken a similar approach with Caldera, plucking many of its POIs straight out of Hawaii.
Thanks to Reddit user Metaforze, we can see all of the locations that Warzone Pacific's Caldera map appears to be inspired by, including the Capital City and Resort.

Caldera Capital – Ali'iolani Hale
The Capital POI is clearly inspired by the Ali'iolani Hale building in downtown Honolulu, Hawaii.

The building has roughly the same shape as Caldera's capital building, with the buildings and balconies being in the exact same place. Plus, it even has the same clock tower with a flag pole mounted on top.
Caldera Peak – Haleakalā Observatory
Caldera has much more elevation than Verdansk, and the highest point is marked by a "military battery installation" on top of a dormant volcano that appears to be inspired by the Haleakalā Observatory in Maui, Hawaii.

While not being an exact recreation, it's likely that Haleakalā Observatory is a source of inspiration. The Observatory was built in the 60s but has a similar round shape and white color to Cladera's Peak – plus it also lies on the summit of a dormant volcano.
Caldera Terminal – Ford Island Control Tower
Caldera's airfield is overlooked by a tall control tower that bears a striking resemblance to the Ford Island Control Tower in Pearl Harbor.

Although not as tall or narrow, Caldera's tower has the same red control room at the top, and platforms all the way up. Many Warzone players weren't huge fans of Verdansk's air traffic control tower, so hopefully, this is better received.
Caldera Royal Cabana Resort – Royal Hawaiian hotel
Warzone Pacific's Royal Cabana Resort appears to be heavily inspired by the Royal Hawaiian hotel in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Being similar in both shape and name, the Royal Cabana Resort has a similar bell tower to the Royal Hawaiian. We'll need to wait until the map releases on December 8 to see if there are any more similarities.
Caldera Shark's Lair Submarine Pen – Lorient Submarine Base
Caldera's Shark's Lair Submarine Pen, also included in Vanguard, is clearly inspired by the Lorient Submarine Base in Lorient, France.

This Submarine Base was used throughout the Second World War to harbor U-Boats, and it seems Raven Software has recreated it in the Pacific. It has almost exactly the same shape, with similar gunner mounts on top.
Caldera arrives with Warzone Pacific Season 1 on December 8, and it's likely the community will find even more IRL locations once they've had proper time to explore.

Forgotten MW SMG still top-tier in Warzone Season 6
Warzone players are looking to send Verdansk off with a bang and there's no better way to do that than with this forgotten MW Submachine Gun.

Utilizing this forgotten MW SMG is sure to bring back memories of Verdansk's early days before players shift to Warzone Pacific: Caldera.
With so much focus on which weapons are "meta", some pretty powerful options are often overlooked. Call of Duty data expert TrueGameData recently discovered the resurgence of a forgotten MW Submachine Gun.
The weapon in question is MW's AUG. The data suggests that the AUG is still a force to be reckoned with. The AUG's fire rate may not be as quick as other weapons in its class, even so, it is certainly one of the hardest-hitting SMGs around.
The AUG had a brief moment of moderate usage as a weapon in Warzone until it disappeared altogether. With the TrueGameData loadout below the weapon can make a triumphant return.
If you're looking to give the AUG a try you should know that it doesn't feel like other Submachine Guns. The AUG is much less mobile and quick to fire than other MW Submachine Guns. This might throw you off for a match or two but once you get the hang of the AUG, you'll be shredding in no time.

The loadout focuses on utilizing the AUG's already amazing base damage capability. Accuracy, range, and damage may not be the first thing that comes to mind when using an SMG, but the AUG certainly brings these qualities to the table.
TrueGameData MW AUG Warzone loadout
- Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
- Laser: Tac Laser
- Optic: Solozero Optics Mini Reflex
- Magazine: 5.56 NATO 30-Round Mags
- Perk: Sleight of Hand
The 5.56 NATO 30-Round Mags might seem like a strange choice for a Warzone Submachine Gun. However, the Sleight of Hand perk will compensate for the below-average mag size.
This AUG can be utilized up close with a fantastic TTK or it could be used at greater distances. Thanks to the Solozero Optics Mini Reflex and Monolithic Suppressor, accuracy and damage range won't suffer at medium range.
Of course, the Tac Laser is a Warzone staple as it boosts ADS speed and increases aiming stability.

Given that the AUG could perform well at medium range, this loadout is best complemented by a long-range rifle. In the video, TrueGameData opts for the Swiss K31. Use the AUG as sniper support and you'll devastate Verdansk.
